Description
Asterings is an epic new arcade game. Voyaging across the multiverse, players will be able to fly a variety of Rings and explore an ever-growing number of fantastic new worlds. Each level has been meticulously designed to maximize fun and balance difficulty. Their progression reveals an implicit narrative, a simple yet exhilarating story of hope framed by glimpses of a bygone catastrophic event and countless explosions. Moreover, each Ring has its own distinctive attributes within the game physics, its own “look and feel”. True protagonists of this enthralling space odyssey, the toroidal spaceships have their course marked by gems: shiny fuel units whose intrinsic double nature makes them both deadly and indispensable. As they follow the rhythm of each planet’s original theme music, players will be able to master the easy-to-learn single touch dynamic that will allow them to race through space and climb to the top of the leaderboards. They will encounter useful power ups, stumble upon curious Easter eggs and unlock unique achievements.
History
Asterings was conceived on a late summer day, in a little toy shop in Northern Italy. The founder of Irrazionali, Matteo Greco, is one of those 80s kids turned computer engineers thanks to their passion for video games. Game prototyping has always been his primary learning strategy, which came in quite useful when he started to familiarize himself with the Unity Engine, back in 2014. After that, the transition from prototypes to actual game development was only a matter of time and resources. In July, 2017, he became a Unity Certified Developer and teamed up with a partner who shared his enthusiasm and embraced his goals. Inspiration hit them after some time spent working on other projects and many brainstorming sessions. “I used to play that game with my grandfather!”, said Matteo, pointing at the shelf where some wire loop game kits were kept. The jump from there to “we should make a space-age buzz wire evolution” took less than a moment. Matteo and Maria Teresa Levante began working in late September, 2017, shaping up the game with love and dedication, and with the support of friends and collaborators. The release of a beta version of the app is scheduled for September, 2018.
